Having grown up in the church and being a religious person, I was searching for a christian church. Believing the rhetoric of mankind, I never felt comfortable or acceptable in other churches. Finding a glbt-friendly church has meant the world to me. I serve in many capacities to my enjoyment, including the choir, which I was raised in. It is my knew-found family here.
Finding Our Value

“For we are what he has made us, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand to be our way of life.” Ephesians 2:10
We look for so many things in life to give us value. We look to our job, a promotion, a partner, our reputation, a party, and so on. The sad reality is that at the end of the day, we still walk around empty looking for the value we so long to be. I have often said that healthy self-esteem is when we figure out that everyone else feels just as bad about themselves as you do about yourself. It is a universal problem. The answer is universal, as well.
I recently took up painting. I asked a class that I was teaching who would give me $10,000 for my painting. No one volunteered. I continued to ask who will give me $10,000 for an original Picasso. Many people in the class rushed to raise their hand. I looked at the class and asked what was the difference. A student quickly raised their hand and said the artist. Picasso is worth a whole lot more.
So the reality is that the artist is what gives a piece of art its value. If this is true, then why do we keep working so hard to become something great when God has crafted us to be a masterpiece? The artist of our life is God! The price tag on your life was God’s son. You are an invaluable masterpiece created by God. There is no need to clamor to fame or seek to achieve the heights to gain the approval of those around you. Your value is not in the fact of who you are but whose you are.
God doesn’t make junk. God made you. Therefore, you are not junk. So stop living like you don’t matter and realize that you are worth so much more than you ever imagined.

Game One Summary – Football Magic!!!

Whoa! Yeah!!! That was some good football!
The LICF Saints kicked off its 2nd season on September 19th at 2PM
The LICF Saints went up against the irresistible force namely Kellis’s Beavers and if not
for a few bad breaks the game would have been closer. Ramona and Kristina banged heads on defense and under Eva’s advice Krista came out of the game. Undaunted Ramona stayed in the game raising the standard for playing with pain and winning the Iron Woman Award for her performance. Gillian sprinted for a 50yard touchdown
reception, was a ball hawk on defense and recorded her first interception of the season snatching the ball out of the air on a deflection. Seth playing against his brother raised his game to another level as our new quarterback. He threw for a 40 yard touchdown, picked off a pass while playing defense and caught a 50 yard touchdown in traffic much to the chagrin of Heath who after the game said, “He pushed off and got away with a no call for pass interference.” Ouch! The Saints also received important contributions from Jon who had one interception on defense and 50 yards receiving and Jessy who had 60 yards rushing proving once again hard work and hustle counts for Something. Gina played all positions and took on quarterback duties showing a flair for the deep ball and came away with 100 yards passing. When the dust settled it was Kelli’s Beavers 45 and LICF 14. The game was closer than the score shows the game changed on show stopping plays from both teams. Kelli’s Beavers just made more big plays. Saint’s will have better games.
Our next game is Oct.3 at 2:00pm so come on down to Cow Meadow Park in Freeport and support your team!!
