Community Food Pantry Needs

Hello everyone.  As part of our continued effort to serve the community’s need, the LICF Community Food Pantry is currently in need of the following items:

• Peanut Butter
• Jelly
• Powdered Milk
• Rice
• Pasta Sauce
• Canned Fruit

Of course, the food pantry appreciates any canned or shelf stable food products that are donated.  Donations are not limited to the above items.

• Testimonies

  I first started my Christian walk in 1999. I would have bible study with a Pastor at work at lunch time. He taught me a lot. I started going to his church faithfully in May 2007. I got that I was loved, however, because I was gay, I didn’t feel truly accepted, so I didn’t share myself with everyone. This was a small church of approx 20 people registered & less than 5 people showing up to a church.
  
  
  
  In May of 2011 I changed churches. I went from approx 5 people showing up to a church that has approx 1,000 people. It was broken down into 4 services, however, it was a little intimidating! :) I went from having the Pastors home # to an email that the new Pastor wouldn’t return emails a lot of times because he was busy. Overall, I liked both churches, however something was still missing, I didn’t fit in. I was uncomfortable with being gay & fitting in.
  
  
  
  I was invited to come to LICF first in Oct. of 2011, however, scheduling didn’t allow me to get there until Nov 20, 2011. I was welcomed by a church family! I was blown away! I may be corny…and…isn’t this what church is supposed to be like? Any church, regardless of denomination, should embrace everybody! Jesus is about love and that is what I have with LICF. We get the Word, community & fellowship. LICF is my family & I would do anything for anyone & they would do anything for me! Thanks Aneta & Ramona for inviting me I will always be grateful! By the way, bible study is amazing…it makes you think & learn.
